Well, this was a damn cute intro to [a:Ali Hazelwood|21098177|Ali Hazelwood|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1611084228p2/21098177.jpg]. I appreciated the relatable cluelessness of FMC Mallory when it comes to Nolan and his intentions. As well as feeling like you are the person holding a household together when it shouldn't fall on your shoulders. The emotional struggles were a lot more in-depth than I expected. This was such a feelgood romance and I don't know if my husband's weird fascination with chess reels made me enjoy it that much more or just made me slightly less clueless about the vocabulary of such a mentally taxing sport. Am I a contemporary romance convert? Ask me after more Ali Hazelwood, because I think I am becoming a convert to her at least. At least I now have a recommendation for people who aren't into dark romance or romantasy.
