Everleigh and Brock were dating when a tragic accident interrupted their lives and the consequences drove them apart but as a reader it's not clear why in the beginning. Now years later, Everleigh comes back to her hometown to care for her mother and Brock could not be less pleased. He had moved on, now divorced but with a daughter, but he can't get Everleigh out of his head.
It's obvious Everleigh and Brock had amazing chemistry, but they are so angry with each other, themselves and their past that it manifests as hate. They were both very flawed which makes them interesting, but also frustrating sometimes. There are some pretty steamy hate to love scenes along the way. I was so invested in the story line of Everleigh's mum and the doctor!
