Whew boy.

When I first picked up this book, I went through a lot of emotions. The set up - being his husband's escort - like, hell yeah, I wanted to know ALL about that. I was so down. Sign me up. Give it to me. Etc.

But then, I read a little more and there's a mystery too? And, okay, lemme be honest, that usually doesn't work out well. It always feels like when an author does that, some part of the plot or story just gets left to flail around.

NOT. IN. THIS. CASE.

Oh?? My god?? Beth Christopher is out here to ruin us all. Did I read this book almost instantly? Yes. Did I have to bribe myself to be an adult? Yes. Something about all the sides of Simon were far, far too delicious, and then Sebastian????? They both fit the mold of the trope, but Beth Christopher made them so much more than just that.

Bas is hard as nails, but with an ... okay his center isn't quite gooey? Like thing cotton candy with booby traps, and only Simon knows the secret steps to take. And Simon is so sharp he could cut you, but he isn't soft. He isn't weak. He's kick ass and refuses to be vulnerable but he cares.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series!!!!!
