Audra has finally escaped her abusive relationship, walked out the door and into a storm, literally and figuratively. Seeking refuge at her best friend's house she finds an unexpected comfort in her best friend's brother Roman. She's not ready to let her friends and family know what she has experienced, so a quiet bond grows between her and Roman, who listens and is there when needed. Of course he's been in love with her for years, so he cautiously takes his shot. He is such an adorable cinnamon roll book boyfriend, patient and understanding, adoring and gentle, but enraged and protective when Audra is put in danger. I'm obsessed with Roman, and his bestie Beck (who I'm going to need a whole book about) and Audra was such a strong FMC. Even when she felt broken, fearful or anxious, she was really trying to heal and move on. The chemistry between them is great and the spice was so steamy. This was a strong debut, I'll definitely be reading future releases from this author.
