A Breathless Ruin is a dark academia mystery novella by Giuliana Victoria.
Set in the halls of Nocturne Frost University, it follows Calista the librarian and Alistair the professor, as they conduct a rather spicy affair amidst suspicious goings on. When students start dying in mysterious circumstances the motives of characters have you guessing.
Calista is dealing with a traumatic past and Alistair comes across as supportive and patience, but throughout there are journal entries from Alistair which had me wondering, is he up to something, is he what he appears to be?
The romance is hot and heavy from the start, and gets quite spicy while still romantic. It was quite a suspenseful story and the ending was quite the twist I wasn't expecting! This is Giuliana's first foray into a dark academia gothic vibe and I very much enjoyed it and hope to read more in future.
