Revenant - B. Daring & Micah Riley
Five Vampires. One Ancient Curse. And a Heroine Who Has NO Idea What She's Walked Into! 🦇🔥
OH. MY. VAMPIRES! I LOVED THIS BOOK! I'm talking about the kind of book that has you searching for special editions and signed copies before you've even recovered from that ending. Because YES, I want this beauty sitting on my top shelf! Dark academia? Check. Ancient curses, witches, vampires, and secret societies? CHECK! Five dangerously gorgeous men with their own unique abilities? SOMEONE HAND ME A FAN! 🥵
Welcome to Veilcrest, where Alicent is about to discover that her first day as the new girl is only the beginning of her problems. And what a first day it is! We're talking suitcase-pops-open-and-OMG-is-that-my-underwear-on-the-hot-guy's-foot levels of embarrassment. Thankfully, Pryce swoops in to rescue her from what might be the worst first impression in history. Oh, Pryce. Unfortunately, not everyone at Veilcrest is quite so welcoming. Enter Eryx. Drop-dead gorgeous, arrogant, and apparently determined to make Alicent's life miserable. He's the leader of a group of five guys who practically rule the school: Pryce, Bastian, Koen, Eryx, and his twin brother, Elias. And let me just say... ELIAS. That's it. That's all I'm saying. Because if you've read this book, YOU KNOW. ğŸ˜ğŸ–¤ And if you haven't? Oh, just you wait...
Anyway...Alicent is an absolute hot mess, and I ADORED her! She's awkward, overwhelmed, and completely unaware of the paranormal world she's just stumbled into. Because these five gorgeous guys? They're VAMPIRES. And they're trapped beneath an ancient curse placed upon them by one of Alicent's ancestors. Oh, and did I mention that Eryx had feelings for that ancestor? The very ancestor Alicent happens to resemble? HELLO, COMPLICATIONS!
Suddenly, Alicent finds herself at the center of a supernatural mystery she never knew existed, surrounded by five vampires who believe she might be the key to breaking their curse. And from there? TWISTS. TURNS. AND SO MANY WTF JUST HAPPENED MOMENTS! I absolutely love a story that keeps me guessing, and Revenant delivered. Every time I thought I was getting a handle on what was happening, something else came along and completely rearranged the puzzle pieces.
The atmosphere of Veilcrest, the secret societies, the ancient magic, and the tangled history between these characters created exactly the kind of dark paranormal mystery I love sinking my teeth into. And let's talk about the romance! This is a why-choose romance, and honestly, why WOULD Alicent choose? Each of these five vampires brings something different to the table, with distinct personalities, supernatural abilities, and complicated connections to the curse. The tension? Delicious. The chemistry? Explosive. THE SPICE?! Let's just say the temperature at Veilcrest is considerably hotter than the average classroom! 🥵🔥 And beneath all that heat is a mystery that had me completely invested in these characters and their fates. But then... THAT ENDING! EXCUSE ME?! You cannot put me through all of THAT and then leave me hanging! I NEED BOOK TWO. NOW!
🖤 My Wicked Verdict
Revenant checked practically every box on my paranormal romance wish list!
Dark academia, cursed vampires, witches, secret societies, a wonderfully chaotic heroine, five irresistible love interests, scorching spice, and plot twists that left me staring at the page wondering what on earth just happened.
I loved the characters, the mystery, the atmosphere, and the way the story kept me desperate for answers. This is absolutely a book I want on my keeper shelf, preferably in a gorgeous special edition!
Five vampires. One cursed past. A heroine caught in the middle. And a cliffhanger that should come with emotional compensation! 😂🦇
Bring. Me. Book. Two.
