Thank you Alcove Press for the free ebook. All opinions are my own.
Ok…soooo…😆
Did I love this read? Yes! (…mostly). Loved the story. LOVED the characters! BUT I was unprepared for redacted (I’m terrified of giving spoilers to anyone by accident, BUT, I’ll put the details in the spoiler section below…👀) Now, if I’d been prepared , I’m sure I would have rated this one higher, because, as I said, I was reeeeally enjoying it. 🥺
So much yearning. Cute hangouts with an adorable little ghost fam. Fun ghost mechanics. (And pranks! 😜).
Definitely more emotional than I was expecting going in, especially leading into those final pages. 😢
<spoiler>Now, for the negative…The whole book, I was under the assumption that there was going to be a HEA? Like, “Wow, I’m so invested. I wonder how it’s all going to work out!” I mean, that’s what I expect from a “Romance” book? 👀 And then…it ends AMBIGUOUSLY?? 😭😭😭
Here I thought we were careening toward a happy conclusion for these characters, and instead, ended up feeling completely discombobulated.
And it’s not like it was a bad conclusion; it was actually rather beautiful. I just wasn’t prepared , based on my assumptions for the Romance genre. (And I have a feeling I won’t be alone…) .</spoiler>
So anyway…loved it except for one kind of big thing, but would still recommend it, as long as you aren’t too picky about…things. 😬
