Let me start this off by saying that this book is SO underhyped - why are more people talking not about it?! I think @izzybarrywrites knocked it out of the park with this one! 🐺
This book had me HOOKED within the first two chapters and I couldn’t help but be drawn to Aloka’s story. Forced to live with Alpha Stark (🥵🥵🥵) after her brother’s death, she struggles to find her place in the pack as a human who’s seen as less than worthy.
The slow burn between Aloka and Stark is delicious and the tension is palpable. (Spoiler alert: Stark is TOP NOTCH book boyfriend material 🥵🥵🥵) Izzy does an amazing job of navigating pack/human politics all while creating engaging characters you’ll become so connected with (what’s up Jocko?!) and building a world with dynamic layers that you can see yourself in. If secrets and a plot that’s PLOTTING are your jam, you’re gonna love this one 🖤🖤🖤
I’m a sucker for shifters and I found myself so invested in the story that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough - when the end came I really wasn’t ready for it! 😫 This is book 1 in The Myth That Burns duology and literally, book 2 cannot get here fast enough! I’m feral for this story and these characters and I think you will be too! 🐺
