I had no idea what to expect when I picked up Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. The only thing I knew was that it was a popular book that had recently been adapted to the big screen. I don't read much straight sci-fi like PHM but wow did I love this book! I enjoyed the complexities surrounding Grace's character and his motivations and choices as well as the moral and ethical questions this story begs us to ask. And I can't even discuss the lovely unexpected friendship that we find along the way!
The pacing in my opinion is slow but steady and there is a lot of scientific language (which makes total sense). I was so intrigued by the plot and Grace's character that I could not put this book down and immediately watched the movie once I finished the book!
If you enjoy sci-fi, unlikely friendships, adventure, and a story that makes you think Project Hail Mary is for you!
