I’m going to start this review a little unconventionally by saying that I’m sad I read this book in the middle of summer. This romance is absolutely perfect for cozy sweater weather. It makes you feel like you’re drinking hot cider while eating chocolatey baked treats on the porch, wrapped up in a cozy blanket.
This book was sweet, emotional, funny, and incredibly mature. And I don’t mean that in a spicy way. Aiden and Mia are a perfect match. I loved their chemistry and banter, and I especially loved that they acted like real people. They have flaws, but they also have so much passion and empathy. Their romance will leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy, and for half the book you’ll be yelling, "Just kiss already!" Trust me, it’s worth the wait.
I can’t say enough about how much I loved the side characters. Ophelia and Mist were abso-freaking-lutely amazing. I will never get enough of sarcastic little cats who think they’re the center of the world, paired with their eccentric ADHD owner who has so much magic in her heart. I absolutely adored them and would happily move into their little shop.
Last but not least, I loved how caring for someone with a chronic illness was portrayed in this book. Aiden’s struggles felt real, and Ella wrote his emotions so beautifully that I felt every one of them alongside him.
All in all, this was a fantastic cozy romance and the perfect read for the end of summer and the start of fall ❤️
