I've been dying for Conrad's book—how could someone so smoking hot be so terrible at talking to women? I am happy to report that my curiosity was satisfied, and Conrad and Whitney's romance is super endearing and sexy.
Conrad broke my heart a little with his pretty extreme fear of rejection, the product of years of pre-teen/teen bullying. He has everything going for him: great personality, sweet disposition, hot face, amazing body. Watching him become the living embodiment of a statue every time a pretty woman spoke to him was almost painful. It was especially excruciating to watch with Whitney because he is so into her.
I am ten toes down for Whitney. She is a badass HS hockey coach and math teacher with a HUGE heart and endless patience. I love that she is forging her own path, separate from her famous hockey star older brother. She isn't taking the easy route in life; instead, she's chasing what fulfills her. My favorite thing about her is that she doesn't let Conrad being her brother's rival affect their budding relationship. She trusts her gut about the man she's determined him to be. And she doesn't let Conrad trash-talk her brother. She knows her brother beyond hockey and protects their relationship. I love a strong woman who trusts her own mind and sets boundaries!
Together, Conrad and Whitney may start out painfully awkward, but they quickly turn steamy and so sweet. Every movie night had me giggling, while Conrad's fierce determination that Whitney is his one had me in a permanent swoon. They have shot up to the top of my Moonshot couples ranking and are definitely in my top five for Rebecca Jenshak.
This is another fantastic entry in what has become one of my favorite series. The humor, the heat, the swoon—it's all present, and I ate it up. Now I'll be patiently waiting for my deluxe edition of the paperback to arrive.
