If only I could give it more than 5 stars! The Poison Daughter is one of my top reads of 2025. I was enthralled from the very start and the story and characters did not let up through all 600+ pages, what a wild ride. Harlow is the badass FMC who suffers from chronic illness (migraines), which was represented so well. That doesn't stop her being a little murderish though, and when she's out doing her vigilante shit one night she accidentally and unknowingly meets the man she will soon be wed to. Henry is charismatic and cocky, and does not let up on Harlow easily. He's still quite protective though, possessive even.
They have more in common than they think, both traumatised by their pasts, ultimately wanting to do right by their people. Their chemistry is undeniable, even when they hate each other. The spice is hot and the witty and snarky banter is top notch, the way they scheme behind each other's back is adorable in an odd way. The political intrigue is so engaging and keeps you guessing. Fantastic read and highly recommended!
