This book continues the great story, incredible world-building, and unique magic system of Book 1.
There were still a lot of surprises in this book.
Camille’s writing is beautiful and definitely draws you in and keeps you reading.
Points to Discuss
I have questions and maybe you have the answers? (SPOILERS BELOW)
The book is named after the Shield which was imbued with great power but then what did it do? Why did Dawes almost die?
Why is this called a “duet” but like so much of the plot is unresolved?
If that is ‘why choose’ I’m sensing, give me more!
Are there any rules to the magic system?
