I knew from the dedication page that I would like this story:
For anyone who has ever found
'home' inside of books.
Welcome home.
I really enjoyed this book. There are regular fae, blood drinking fae, dragon fae, halflings and humans. There are curses, betrayal and fated mates. Needless to say there is a lot going on. There are maps and a pronunciation guide. I definitely used the maps a few times to reference where certain towns were in relation to the one they were coming from. She also included a list of gods and goddesses, what they were the god of and their traits.
Aveline, a human, is sent to kill a dragon shifter by the Queen, because she doesn't approve of the relationship Aveline has with her son. What happens? She discovers things about herself she didn't know, uncovers some of the lies her people were told about the other kingdom and so much more.
This is a great story told really well, it is a well visioned world as well. With descriptions of beautiful palaces and ornate, gothic castles and the towns surrounding them. I definitely recommend this and I can't wait for the next installment.
