Book: Ache of Chaos by Randi Garner

Reviewed by Blair

This book. What can I say about this book. I have wanted to know more about Marina and her absolute unhingedness (is that a word?) since she appeared in book one. Randi Garner absolutely delivered everything I could possibly want/need/hope for in a book about her and Acacius.

These two characters are absolutely perfect for each other. Their chaotic manic energies complement each other in a way that neither of them see coming, but ho boy they should have. We learn so much about both of them, so much about their past pain and trauma and what has shaped them into the unhinged creatures they've become. We also get a glimpse into Marina's relationship with her mother and please just go ahead and prepare yourself to cry.

I love this book. I love this series. I love how the mental health aspects are not shied away from but highlighted... because we all have our demons.

Some of my favorite quotes below:
"Neat little trick. I wonder who taught it to you."
"Just an arrogant god that I once met." Marina pushed off the wall using her elbows. "He's fucking deranged now."

He was not willing to accept the idea of death like his older brother was. Death was the bringer of peace. And peace had no place in Acacius's heart. {someone please give my dude a hug}

But then again, he was also insane and ran off the flare of emotions.
