⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️
I genuinely don't even know where to begin with this book! This a god-tier, all time favourite series of mine that will always have my heart, and this conclusion meant so incredibly much to me.
The mental health representation was unlike anything I've ever read, and as someone who lives with depression, I felt so incredibly seen through Lily's character. It honestly makes me want to cry thinking about how beautifully Peyton portrayed this experience and how much of herself she poured into this character and her story. She didn't glamorise depression or shy away from how difficult, exhausting and consuming it can be. It felt raw, genuine and written with such a deep understanding that I don't even have the words to explain how much it meant to me. But what made it even more beautiful was that she also showed how life can and will get better. That you can struggle, have difficult days and still find happiness and love. That message meant just as much to me as the representation itself, and I will forever appreciate Peyton for giving us this story. Lily was just utter perfection, real and so raw that its impossible not to love her.
And then there's Toren. THIS MAN!! The way he consistently showed up for Lily without ever making her feel less than, broken or like she was something that needed to be fixed was genuinely one of the most beautiful things to witness. He didn't make her feel like her depression defined her, and he never treated her as though she was any less deserving of love because of what she was going through. He was simply there for her. The tenderness and understanding he showed her made me love him so much more, and I honestly couldn't have imagined a more perfect partner for Lily.
And the chemistry and emotional connection between Lily and Toren? OUT OF THIS WORLD. Their relationship was absolute perfection, and I loved how much depth and tenderness there was beneath their connection. I was so invested in these two and everything they meant to each other, and their love story felt all the more meaningful because of everything Lily was navigating. Their relationship was romantic, emotional and so full of heart, and I genuinely couldn't get enough of them.
The found family in this series has also completely stolen my heart!! There's something so special about a group of mismatched, imperfect and broken characters finding one another and creating something beautiful together. Watching them find love, happiness and a sense of belonging has been such an emotional experience, and seeing them all reach a place of peace made me feel SO many things. I love how this series has shown that family doesn't have to be perfect to be meaningful, and finding people who understand you and love you for who you are, faults and all, is possible.
Peyton's writing, as always, completely blew me away. Not only is it engaging and so binge-worthy, but it's also utterly romantic and stunningly beautiful. She has this incredible ability to make even the simplest feelings sound poetic, and the way she captures emotion makes her one of the most talented romance writers out there for me. Her writing makes you FEEL, and I think that's what makes this series so special. I don't just love these characters or enjoy their stories, I feel so deeply connected to them, and that is the most beautiful experience.
The way I was SOBBING my little heart out at the end, seeing all my babies happy and finally at peace? My gosh. 😭 It's honestly unreal to feel this connected to a series and its characters, and I don't think I'll ever forget the way these books made me feel. I'm so grateful to have experienced this world, and even more grateful for the way Lily's story made me feel so seen.
Overall, I will NEVER get over this series and how much it means to me! Undone brought everything together so beautifully and was the perfect goodbye (🥹😭) to this universe. Peyton, you are an absolute genius and you will have my heart forever for what this series has done for me. I will never shut up about it or stop recommending it, EVER!! 🫶🏻
