I never thought I would find myself reading a Halloween sentient object romance about a woman and a twelve-foot skeleton falling in love, but I'm not mad about the journey. Not even a little bit.
Tori, a recently divorced forty-something, is loving her new single life. She is no longer discouraged from celebrating her favorite holiday (and mine): Halloween. And what better way to celebrate than by buying a viral twelve-foot skeleton and dressing it up? And when it turns out that Mr. Bonejangles is sentient and capable of rocking her tent (IYKYK)? EVEN BETTER.
I was surprised by how much tenderness and emotion fit into a tight 132 pages. Tori and BJ (cue my inner eleven-year-old boy) truly fall in love, and I found myself rooting for them to find a way to stay together despite the evil machinations of Tori's HOA (honestly, such a relatable villain).
A delightfully sexy and hilarious romance, perfect for a cozy fall read.
