I loved the start of this; it gave me Burn Notice vibes with a why choose twist. The mission may be the plot, but the chemistry and banter was what I stayed for! Camille is a truly capable FMC and I loved how the MMCs brought out different aspects of her; with Rai there was the will they/wont they shyness, Dex who had the audacity to pretend he was dead and gets all Cam's snark aimed at him, and then Will who charms her and declares her his wifey as she tries to keep her feelings in check.
This may be Camille's story but Will may be my new favourite Zodiac character! He cemented that position after the spreadsheet joke but most of his dialogue had me cracking up. He is a one man hype team for this bunch and I loved how he encouraged them to act on their feelings.
The Guild element isn't as prevalent in this one but instead we are left with a potential open door. If that means Will can make a cameo, I am all over a follow up!
My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it overall; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
