I have been waiting very (im)patiently for Amanda's book ever since reading Love Me Stalk Me because she completely stole the show. Thankfully, it was worth the wait.
Amanda is exactly the kind of chaotic FMC I love. She's hilarious, independent, and fiercely loyal to the people she loves. I adore the contrast between her hot-pink femininity and her badass side—riding motorcycles, carrying a pistol, and refusing to let anyone push her around. Honestly, it's wild that no one had wifed her up already... except someone technically did and then disappeared without a word, leaving Amanda convinced she was impossible to love.
Kade had me feeling two very different emotions at once: sympathy and the overwhelming urge to shake him. He genuinely believes the only way to keep Amanda safe is to leave her and watch over her from the shadows. I admire that this man would literally kill for her (and does), but a little communication could have saved them both eight years of heartbreak. Thankfully, he's ridiculously attractive and has the kind of dry sense of humor I'm completely incapable of resisting.
Together, Amanda and Kade just make sense. Despite marrying as strangers, they have the kind of insta-love that feels believable because everything between them clicks into place so naturally. Amanda gives Kade a reason to hold onto his humanity despite his life as a contract killer, while Kade encourages Amanda to embrace just how capable she already is. I will always root for a man who knows his wife doesn't need saving but chooses to protect her anyway simply because he loves her. Kade is absolutely that man.
This was a fantastic follow-up to Love Me Stalk Me, and now I'm even more excited to dive into Raven and Jake's story.
