Book: Moonflower by Shaina Anastasi

Moonflower is book one in the Script of Serun series so it has a lot of heavy lifting to do when it comes to worldbuilding and introduction of characters and circumstances. Saya Claymore is part of a group of individuals referred to as “feeders” where they donate(?) their blood to the nightwalkers. The routine is fairly repetitive until she catches the eye of a nightwalker. From there it is a combination of intrigue and uncertainty as revelations about various characters are made.
The story is short and the world is a very dystopian horror fantasy but I feel like I was left wanting and needing to know more. Nothing is exactly clear cut and I have so many questions about this now that I have completed Moonflower. It is intense and compelling but I feel so lost in the world. That being said, it IS the first book in a new series and there is definitely potential for the rest of the series.
Thank you to Shaina Anastasi for the gifted ARC! All opinions are my own
