The Banter and Chemistry between these two characters are OFF THE CHARTS SO GOOD!! This is my second MM book and it was everything I had hoped for in this genre, but also by LJ Shen. She never fails to deliver a book that grabs my attention as soon as I read the first chapter! This story continues the Society of Villains series and the characters we love. Enzo has been one of my favorite characters since reading Bad Bishop, he's funny and charming but also ruthless for his Ferrante family. His charm and lightheartedness really brought me in and made me love him even more. Enter Tom who is an FBI agent assigned to their families case and very intent on making sure not only Enzo but this entire family are behind bars for their crim3s. However, Tom ended up getting more than he bargained for with Enzo. Slowly you see Tom having a hard time separating his job for the feelings he develops for Enzo.
I was absolutely obsessed with the Banter between these two. The text messages were top tier and had me laughing out loud the majority of the time. LJ does a phenomenal job crafting her continued storyline in this series, but what she does really well is creating characters you love no matter what. I loved Enzo in Bad Bishop and Twisted Pawn, but getting to know more about his backstory and his personality? PRICELESS! He shined in this book and I couldn't be more happy about that. Then you have Tom, who is grumpy and MR. BY THE BOOKS all the time, until he gets closer to Enzo and lines start to blur and feelings develop! Their story worked and flowed so seamlessly and the yearning between them has you sitting there yelling at your book for them to get it together!! Let's not forget the SPICE in this story...the chemistry between them was so H.O.T.! Even though Enzo is funny, charming and all the sunshine sweet things, he is also the family's Mafia's Enforcer. You see him embrace that family role, but also get to see so much depth to him that you didn't know existed. This book is top tier for me and I hope that you all take a chance and read this series because I can't imagine someone not loving it. This book is hands down a 5-STAR Read for me and I highly recommend it.
