Book: Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson

It took me a little while to fully get into this one, but once I did, I was hooked.
The beginning felt a bit slow and maybe slightly YA in tone, probably because one of the main POVs is a teenage girl, but the world Sanderson builds is so unique and layered that it quickly made up for it.
I loved the concept of allomancy. The magic system is one of the most well-structured and consistent I’ve read, with clear rules that made every action feel grounded and strategic. It never felt like a crutch, just cool, clever, and essential to the story.
Vin is an intriguing main character. While she didn’t do anything spectacular in this first book, she’s clearly powerful and has that chosen one energy simmering beneath the surface. I’m curious to see how she evolves. And Kelsier? Charismatic, complicated, and totally magnetic. I only wish we’d gotten more insight into his plans earlier on.
The ending absolutely caught me off guard. I love when a twist genuinely surprises me, and Sanderson nailed that. It shifted the tone of the whole book and set the stage for something much bigger.
Looking forward to diving into book two and seeing where the fallout from that finale leads!
