Mermaids anyone?

Book: Rose Moon by Heidi Adams

This story started out a little on the slow end because it starts with Karter in high school but then we jump forward in time and honestly, this book drew me in.

Karter is a talented composer who struggles to connect with people. His mom doesn't understand him, his dad tries and the only deep family connection he has is with his grandfather. I honestly love their relationship and how supportive and understanding he is.

Karter meets Ella one day while she is swimming and immediately feels their connection. Turns out she is a mermaid and they have had a connection since he was a child, they just never understood it. As time passes, their connection grows over years until they become intimate and their relationship progresses until they become more...

I loved the narrators for this book. It was a truly wonderful cast. Charles Vandervaart did an exceptional job displaying Karson's emotions. You could feel his happiness and love, then his devastation and his heartbreak. His loneliness and despair felt so real in some places it was truly heartbreaking. Arya Jacobs and Audrey Obeyn also did wonderfully with their portrayal of Ella and Rachel. Honestly, you could feel all the emotions through their narration.

Heidi Adams is a wonderful storyteller, her book draws you in and her descriptive imagery makes it vivid and easy to imagine everything she shares. This is truly an epic love story, but it leaves you on dangling because this is a series and you just want more!
