If you need me, I’ll be residing at Kingsley Manor, thank you very much.
The Pythonist is everything I crave when I’m hunting down an atmospheric gothic dark romance. Loren Little completely understood the assignment with this one. There's a decaying, isolated estate, lost entities, secrets, and a brand of dark, obsessive proximity that makes you want to highlight every single line in the book.
The dynamic between our leads was chef's kiss . It leans heavily into a second-chance, friends-to-lovers setup, but wrapped in layers of a dangerous, haunting atmosphere, and a mystery that slowly unfolds. The melancholy, ghost-haunted halls of Kingsley Manor provide the ultimate backdrop, giving off major gothic chills while keeping the tension sharp and intoxicating.
Little’s writing has this wonderful, dark, and decadent pull to it. The pacing keeps you completely hooked and had some insane plot twists! If you like your romance dripping in shadows, with an eerie atmosphere shrouded in mystery The Pythonist is an absolute must-read.
Consider me locked in, and I am already impatiently tapping my fingers waiting for the next installment.
Thank you to MTMC Tours and Loren Little for the eARC. All opinions are my own.
