Map of a Heart is a beautiful and powerful memoir of loss, fear, the unknown, strangers who become our heroes, miracles, and the love that carries us through the trials and tribulations of life. Mrs. Gorelick set the scene of her husband’s heart attack so vividly, I was in tears seeing this young mother panicking over her young husband collapsing while a kind woman cared for their newborn baby. The time they spent in the ICU brought me back to my own time hanging out in the hospital with my dad for 2 months until he passed away at the age of 59 from sepsis. Her telling of their story evoked so many emotions in me, including gratitude for all those who saved the life of this man I don’t know. This memoir will likely have you crying at some point, but you will also smile and be happy for this family. It is absolutely worth the tears. 5 out of 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
