Based on the cover, I thought this would be a fluffy Christmas rom com... and it is not. However, I ended up really enjoying this debut novel about two people recovering from grief and moving forward. Kate has had a rough few years since the death of her husband. She has a crappy job, lives in a terrible flat, and her little boy is having issues at school. Daniel is facing his first Christmas alone after the death of his little sister earlier in the year. I have to say this was a really good read- I felt invested in Kate and her son as well as Daniel and I really needed to have a satisfying ending, which is exactly what I got.
