It’s been a minute since I’ve started up a Dark Romance, and this one definitely grabbed my attention right off the bat.
Milo has a stalker. Who wears a mask. And is obsessed about him, and trying to keep him safe? 👀
Gotta admit, “Technothriller” is a new genre for me (and had to look up what it was), but just think of it as a thriller with technology, and I thought it made for a very exciting…dare I say, thrilling time.
Milo’s stalker, aka “The Forgotten” definitely giving morally “grey” (black?) vibes, as he has no inhibitions about killing for his goals. And his goals seem to revolve around Milo, and we find out why as the book progresses.
Now, I will say, I found romance to actually be the weakest part of this book 🫣. Very insta-lust/love in how it starts; like it started before they had even met? 😬 But also, I found the spice to be a little too much, personally? Dont get me wrong, I’m all in on a spicy book, but many scenes seemed to be there just for the sake of adding more vs. there for development reasons, and it definitely took me out of the story a bit.
Overall, though, I still did enjoyed the listen, specially for the actiony Techothrillerness of it all, but the romance did bring it down a bit for me.
Audiobook notes: DUET Narration, and absolutely fabulously done!! Both narrators absolutely knocked it out of the park! Ellis Evans and Mac Rae both brought such different voices, with perfect performances for both of their characters, and had me positively entranced the whole way through. The audio is 100% the way to go with this one!
