Thank you Putnam Books for the gifted book. All opinions are my own. (I paired this one with the audiobook from my library.)
I don’t read a lot of mysteries, just not really a genre I gravitate toward, but I had a really fun time with this one, and I think that was mostly down to the characters and the romance . 😍
Their goal in this one is to find the person unaliving all these townsfolk, because our vampire/MC, Bastian swears it isn’t him! And in order to save him from a permanent ending, they need to find the real culprit pronto.
Set in a picturesque Italian village, somehow giving off kind of vacation vibes? Even though they’re busy solving a murder. I mean, maybe it was the gelato? 😜
Many a cute moment between Bastian and Detective De Luca, but let’s be honest, I was here for all the Whitby moments; I’m just a sucker for a talking cat. 🤭
The ending of this one does leave it open for the possibility of more adventures with these characters, and I, for one, would for sure be interested in some potential future books? 🤞
Audiobook notes: George Weightman was so good! Great voices and delivery of the fun bits throughout. Had a thoroughly enjoyable time listening. Highly recommend the audio!
