Thankyou so much to the author for sending me this fantastic book to review!

I have cried alot! I just finished the epilogue and wanted to share my thoughts and compliments straight away.

I only have 1 critique, which doesnt happen often with books I read, so lets get that part out of the way first.

The conversation with Houston about Rita & Bernie should of been a scene, and not a quick passing bit of information towards the end of the book, I feel it needed more than an instant acceptance from Houston, as a Queer person myself, being Queer was dangerous in all communities, and I feel readers deserved to see that explored, Houston needing love is love explained, maybe not with him being hateful, but shocked yet coming to a rational understanding because of the fact he passes, and Gema is a Black woman, both in Jim Crow Tulsa. There is a relatableness in there for both communities, and support & safety is needed for those who intersect both. Especially in 2026, so It would of been 5* from me if that had been explored.

Everything i loved -
This book has restored my faith and interest in Romance books. As a survivor of DV, it is a genre im not too excited about reading, though its a genre inside of other genres, and impossible to escape fully. I now feel I can enjoy romance heavy books, because of this and 1 other book im reading. THIS IS HUGE FOR ME.
The characters aren't annoying, spicy scenes are never unnecessarily added in, and I am rooting for the MFC & MMF, as if theyre real life friends! I have cried for them, happy tears, scared tears, and sad tears. And I feel like the book ended on a really good note, and the epilogue excited me, im intrigued to see what happens next, and thanks for not making it a horrible cliffhanger!

This book is perfect for lovers of Outlander, Lunatide, Passing, Sinners, and the TV show timeless.
