Thank you to Macmillan.audio and Wednesday Books for the gifted audiobook/ebook. All opinions are my own.
Oh what a fantastic world to just get swept away by. 🥰
I was drawn right in by the idea of this Deadly Fae Chess Competition, set in the Fae world, hosted by the protagonist’s nemesis, a certain Fae King who “stole” her sister years prior.
The chess matches were a lot of fun! There were a lot of stakes to each one, which kept me hooked to see how each game would shape up.
I loved the love interest, Ciara. She was fun and a bit flirty, and her love of the human world was really pretty cute. Their banter together was so good, and it was so great seeing them get to know one another, gaining mutual respect for each other along the way.
Overall, I just loved this atmospheric read so much and will definitely be recommending it to my 13 year old daughter, as I think she’ll really enjoy it, too.
Audiobook notes: Kristen Sieh was so good in this one, especially with all the Irish accents sprinkled throughout! Highly recommend the audio for this one.
