Book: Love From Lexie by Cathy Cassidy

So I am most definitely not the required age for this book.... 9 - 11 yrs old, but I still appreciated it. The story is told in diary format and letter-style narration. Lexie is in foster care; we don't know what happened to her Mum, just that she writes to her a lot. So much so, the social worker has told her she needs to stop sending the letters to her old home. :( But writing these letters is her outlet in life.
Lexie starts a group called The Lost and Found, which was meant to be a safe place for "misfits" to meet and chat about their feelings, and make new friends, all in a safe space and in a library. However, cue the school "cute" boy, Marley, and it turns into a 12-piece band on a mission to save the local library from being closed.
It was a cute story, a lot about growing up and teenage angst, about trying to figure things out along the way. I loved the friendship these kids had. I have no idea why I requested it on NetGalley; it must have been the cute cover, but I am glad I did. I think my mini me will enjoy this!
