I really wanted to love Love Antidote because I’ve enjoyed Brynne Weaver’s books so much in the past. The concept immediately caught my attention, and I genuinely liked the premise and where the plot was going.
But unfortunately, this one just didn’t quite hit for me.
I listened to it on audio, and I know it’s a very short book, but that ended up being part of the problem for me. Everything moved so quickly that it never really felt like the story had enough time to stick. I kept waiting for the characters, relationships, and overall plot to develop a little more or pull me in, and by the time I felt like I was buying in, it was over.
I think there’s a really fun story here, and I can absolutely see why other readers might enjoy it, but for me, it felt more like the beginning of something than a fully developed story. Not only that, but I wanted more depth, development, and ultimately more time with these characters.
Not a bad read by any means, and I still love Weaver’s writing, but sadly this one just wasn’t a love for me. 💔
