Oh my wow. There’s a reason Emily Rath is an auto-read author for me, and I love being reminded of that every time I pick up one of her books, no matter the (romance) genre. 🙌
This time we get a paranormal romance, set on an island I am now obsessed with, and a witch clan I would be ever so happy to join. 🤗
We also get three MCs, all lonely in their own ways, finding each other by circumstance(?), with magic, mysteries and danger afoot.
And so many great side characters! My favorite being Pickles, the not-a-cat, and of course, Hortie. 👵🏻
(And the spiiiiiice 😮💨, never dissapoints in an Emily Rath book!)
I was absorbed by the story the whole way through, and that ending definitely has me dying for book 2 already. 😩
Audiobook notes: 3 POVs and 3 Narrators (“Dual” narration style), and what a stack of narrators! 🙌 Megan Wicks 😍, Shane East 🫠, and Gregory Salinas (who was new to me, but wow, is he good! 👍) All three of them worked so well together, giving each character perfect voices and hitting all the emotional (and spicy moments) just right.
