Melody & her ghostbusting crew have a new assignment, Maplemead Castle. The new owners bought it sight unseen & is teeming with ghosts. Britannia Lovell, a vivacious trapeze artist, is the ghost at the center of it all. She fell to her death performing in the ballroom. Maplemead Castle has been unsettled ever since, with other ghosts around, causing chaos.
Kooky Spooky Love is definitely a slower read than the first Melody Bittersweet novel. At halfway in, not much has happened other than scene setting. That being said, it picks up midway, and the story gets much more interesting. Learning about the tragic dynamic between Britannia and the other ghosts was captivating. I didn’t love the circus element of the story (circuses give me the ick), but I love the Maplemead Castle setting & how Melody and crew fit into all of it. It was a fun read, for sure.
