Five stars. Easily. I still cannot believe this was a debut.
From the very first chapters, I was pulled straight in. The worldbuilding is vivid and creative, the pacing never lags, and Leina is everything I want in a heroine. She is fierce, furious, and completely unstoppable once she sets her mind on something. Her bond with Vaeloria was iconic and added such a fun twist to the story.
The tension between Leina and Ryot was unreal. Forbidden, slow building, and charged in all the best ways. And the dream scenes? Some of the most memorable I have read in a long time. Bold and very spicy!
The plot twists hit hard. The truth about the Faarenguardians, the destruction of the Selencian Altor (which maybe I should have seen coming but didn’t), and that final reveal with Alden had me staring at my kindle in a daze. The entire last section of the book is pure momentum, and the cliffhanger is vicious in the best possible way. I am already desperate for book two.
I loved every part of this: the rage, the grit, the tenderness, the escalating stakes, the found family, and the sheer energy of the story. This series already feels special, and I cannot wait to see where it goes next.
