I was intrigued and absorbed from the first chapter! I love the premise of this story, I love how the fae are represented in this (under)world. We get a brief cameo from the wild hunt. Just so many things from classic fae stories that I don't often see in Romantasy these days but really enjoy.

Halfway through I was dying for a male POV, although I understand why we don't get one. Our FMC is so sassy and has so many great one-liners. There is a slow, gradual build up between our MCs, really well done.

My thoughts immediately at the end of this in no particular order. Making me love some of the side characters the way she did was rude. SO many emotions, and twists on twists (which I didn't see coming, but looking back there are breadcrumbs)! I need the next book now please. It is a bit of a cliffhanger, but not the worst I've ever had (looking at you Rebecca Yarros).

This was my first book from Clare Sager but it will absolutely not be my last! Can't wait for the conclusion to this duology, and will be checking out her backlist in the meantime!

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book!
