“Charming,” he said, raising his eyebrows. “A young woman who behaves like a common urchin.”
“Better than a thieving pirate.”
He clutched at his heart mockingly. “You wound my heart, Buttercup.”
“What a liar. You don’t possess a heart.”
“Careful, it’s beginning to sound a lot like you’re flirting with me.”
She picked up a golden telescope from the floor and pointed it at him. “With absolutely full offense, I would rather die. Weren’t you leaving?”

It was so easy to fall in love with this book.
It had everything I needed for me to connect with it. A beautiful storyline, characters that have depth, are funny and really attaching.
There's always something so enchanting about mermaids and pirates. Something that incites us to envy, to dream. Whether it's about the beauty of a mermaid or the freedom of a pirate.
And it's even more special when a book portrays it so well.
This book did it for me.
I felt that feeling of want and dream. I wanted more to read about, I wanted to be both the beautiful mermaid and the ruthless pirate. I felt the fierce love of both and it made me want it to be mine.
I'm almost sad while writing this review. Or rather, specifically this part, because I haven't finished the book and I’m careful about the sadness I could end up feeling depending on how it'll end.
But yes, sad. This book matters to me and I don't want it to end. I don’t want to finish it. Because if I finish it, it means that Lyra and Cillian's story is just a story that has an end. And it surely doesn't feel like it when I'm reading it.
It feels like I'm part of the crew. Butterfly mate.
Even the fact that I had the opportunity to choose a crew name makes it all more special.
I'm on an adventure. One I really, really don't want to see end.
And I was so deep in that adventure, that I didn't write anything more after that. I just needed to read, more and more,so this part is written now that I finished this book. And I still feel that pang of sadness, but how relieved and happy I am.
Happy that it's a HEA and happy that we'll probably get more of this world I dived into.
I fell in love with this book and its characters. That's all that I have to say.
It's one of those books you just love, cherish and can't wait to re-read.
The storyline, the world building, the writing. It was perfect to me. Of course I wouldn't have said no to more of everything, but that's just greed talking.
Because in the end, this book is perfect as it is and I'm so happy I had the chance to read it.
Thank you Heda <3
