After finishing Death Becomes Her , I couldn’t wait to dive into the next instalment of Ina Harrington’s series, Ink Becomes Blood , and honestly, it surpassed every expectation. I genuinely think this book is even stronger than the first. Stepping back into this world felt like slipping into something familiar yet newly sharpened, and being reunited with my favourite characters was such a joy. Harrington expands the lore in a way that feels immersive and effortless, giving me even more reasons to fall in love with the world these characters inhabit.
I’m really hoping we get more development between Rose and Val in the next instalment… the super slow burn is absolutely destroying me. Their back and forth and constant banter is so much fun to read, but I’m definitely ready for things to finally shift. And let’s be honest, the moment they shared in the first book does not count. I need the real thing now, along with the emotional payoff this build up truly deserves.
Ink Becomes Blood really sees Rose step into her power. She uncovers more of her abilities and begins to trust herself in ways she never has before, growing not just as a witch but as a person. Watching her confidence bloom was one of my favourite parts of this book.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I fell hard for so many of the characters, and the new faces we met felt like they’re going to play such an important role in the story moving forward. I’m genuinely excited to see where Rose’s journey takes her next, and how her powers continue to grow, twist, and surprise us along the way.
