Loved it!

Book: The Aspirant of Blood by Riley Knight

I loved this book and truly wish it was longer, because I couldn't get enough. The world building and the plot were amazing, though I'd have liked more explanation about the magic system and the shadows curse. There were so many dark topics and backstories, they were really hard to read. This was a tremendous caste society with a stern hierarchy.
Diar was my favourite character of them all! She was so misunderstood and neglected by her own family, she was living in such an unfair way. And she was really tormented by her brother's dæth. I enjoyed her personal growth and her unique relationship with Ferris. They were really funny together!
Mare and Reese were a bit predictable, in a "Romeo and Juliet" kind of way, and I'm hoping to know more about them in the next book! They're really doomed!
And then, there was Liam, with all his secrets and curses. His life was really difficult as well. My heart hurt for him.
I'm so ready for the sequel, that ending just left me wanting so much more of this!!

Tropes:
Unique Magic System
Caste Society & Hierarchy
Divine Weapons
Secrets & Hidden Identities
Forbidden Love
Found Family
Slow Burn
Cursed World
