Kit just wants her brother, Hayes, to be happy and she thinks she’s got just the plan when she starts signing him up for online dating. The problem is, he doesn’t know it and she’s just been caught by his best friend. What else can a loving sister do than to recruit her brother’s best friend by pretending to be in a relationship with him?
Is there anything Lena Hendrix can’t do? This brother’s best friend/childhood friends-to-lovers, small-town romance is toe-curlingly delightful. I wanted to savor the reading but I couldn’t help myself! Somehow, I was immediately sucked in to both the ghostly mystery that shrouds the town of Star Harbor and the back and forth of Brody and Kit. I love that he sees her for herself and that he notices all the little things about her. In turn, she sees the layers beneath his exterior and how they’ve made him who he is.
I love returning to Star Harbor and I love the small town romances that Lena Hendrix has written. There’s something especially magical about this one and yes, maybe it’s because I’m an absolute sucker for stories like the one Brody and Kit have, but there’s a layer of coziness and warmth that’s just perfect this time of year!
Thank you so much to Lena Hendrix for the gifted ARC! All opinions are my own.
