Thank you to Whimsy Words PR and the author Emily Prescott for the ARC — this review is my honest opinion.
The story of In Defense of Magic follows Vivian, a witch dealing with a curse. That curse makes her kill the men she cares about. At the start, Vivian's a witch who's lost hope thanks to the curse she's dealing with. She has to deal with loss and keeps her distance from love. Throughout the book, I felt sorry for Viv and cheered her on.
That was a pretty enjoyable read. Just right for getting into the October spirit. The story contains all the paranormal elements you'd want. Although the beginning of the book is slow, it turns out to be very interesting. I finished it in one day.
A great paranormal read, ideal for the October season.
