Witch Claimed is the final installment of The Hunted trilogy. It follows the story of Gwen and Atticus while also concluding the overall plot line from the previous two books.
I like that this book touches on mental health, but it doesn’t get into the nitty gritty of the work that truly goes into doing the work. So it’s not overly heavy or dark. I also enjoyed Gwen and Atticus’ banter when we financially reached that point.
Unfortunately, this book overall fell flat for me. The pacing was off for the majority of the book. We spent almost half of the book without the MCs talking and hiding out in a cave essentially doing nothing. From there the pace jumped around constantly, and I think that is because the author tried to stick to the “formula” of the first two books. It made things predictable; I wish the order of events had been changed up for this book because it could have upped the tension tenfold!
Overall, this series is ideal for someone who wants a shifter romance but not as dark/heavy as most in the genre are.
