I am in tears. The FMC's emotional turmoil left me feeling wrecked at the end.
Harbinger is well-paced with amazing character development. Ending on a soft cliffhanger, I am on the edge of my seat praying to the Stars that the second book is already drafted and in the editing process.
Readers who love political intrigue, banter, yearning, he falls first, and a slow burn should definitely check this out.
There is an intricate astral religion, deep history, and a magic system we don't get all the pieces to. Even so, following along wasn't difficult. Besides obviously vague information to advance the plot, the entire world was easy to follow. Each new bit you learn alongside the FMC gives another puzzle piece to the mystery of the harbinger, and I thoroughly enjoyed piecing them together and theorizing at every turn!
I absolutely, 100%, would recommend Harbinger with all of my being.
