Hadn't seen this book until a few months ago, and finally had the opportunity to read it. Why did I wait so long again? The drama is there, the plot twists, the characters! Long lost love, forbidden relationships, trials, and honestly? I would NOT mind a why choose in the second book! Rorrik just has that wounded, evil-on-the-outside feel and I wouldn't mind the addition (or the switch) of a love interest for the FMC. He is literally my weakness! He had me from the garden swoon. A 'saw her first' trope is literally one of my favorites and not used enough!
I'm hoping for more backstory in the next one; this one kept me guessing and was a lot of fun when most of the 'good' characters have more secrets than their outward persona can smooth away. Tiberius and Albion got what they deserved.
Amazing read, can't wait for the next!
