This author knows how to reach deep into your soul and make you feel seen. Not only seen but helps you to heal. This book is one of those books that is her way of doing this.
This book is second in the series and you will need to read book one to fully appreciate everything that is happening to the main characters. Book one is definitely worth reading as well! The books are no spice but plenty of swoon! The FMC and MMC are broken and flawed but you can't help but fall in love with both of them. The book is mostly from the FMC POV but you do get a few from the MMC. And, btw, the MMC is one of my all-time favorites!
The pacing of the book is really great, never a dull moment. The author does an excellent job of keeping the plot along with a few sub plots that are important to the story. It is cohesive and emotional. I love watching the development of the different characters throughout book 1 and 2. The main characters go through so much growth but it isn't forced at all. Along with the main characters, some of the other side characters also go through growth. I love so many of those characters!
The beginning of the book has a dedication to those who "feel like too much and not enough" and that theme is carried throughout the entire book. She definitely reached her goal of helping people be seen! Highly recommend this book and any book by this author!
