This is a short novella and its a fast read. It is a standalone that is a spinoff from the main series. I hadn't read the main series so I did ok with it, I wouldn't say you would need to then. I however definitely am going back to read the rest now.
I chose this book wanting holiday like book as well as something unhinged. I was not disappointed, this book is all of the darkness and unhinged. The author did not hold back and I was loving it and all for it. The twists and turns in this book are unreal. I was totally rooting for the two main characters the whole time. I feel like I shouldn't have been given how he was acting but i couldn't help it and they were just perfect for each other. Its like trauma healing in the most uncharacteristic ways possible. I was all for the connection between the two and It was just amazing.
I loved this book and I want more!! I need to more about what happens with Jules and Cain!
This book is not for the faint of heart though and there are trigger warnings a plenty so please make sure you read those and take those into consideration before reading this is very important. This is a DARK book.
If you don't have any issues with it then by all means dive in and enjoy! :
