He Sees Her Strength, Not Her Scars

Book: All's Fair in Love & Wrath by Jenn Plummer

I've been curious about Axel (aka Wrath), whose naked-time sexy adventures have been present throughout all of the previous books. I was pleasantly surprised by just how much intelligence and depth the clubhouse playboy has. He could have easily been one-note in the hands of a lesser author, but Jenn Plummer avoids the stereotypical dumb playboy completely. Between his tragic backstory, advanced computer skills, and puzzle-building hobby (so nerdy and innocent!), there is so much more to Axel than I expected.

Sienna broke my heart. The assault she survived and the disfigurement that resulted had me legit tearing up. To think one person could make another endure so much is unthinkable. She deserves someone like Axel, who looks at her and genuinely believes she is the most beautiful woman in the world.

The absolute best part? Axel sees the Sienna beneath her trauma—the strong, independent woman ready to reclaim her life. He recognizes the fire inside her just waiting to be unleashed and never tries to diminish it. It is so sexy when a man recognizes a woman's power rather than treating her like a damsel in distress.

Together, Axel and Sienna give each other exactly what they need: someone who sees beyond what the rest of the world assumes about them. I loved watching them both prove there was so much more beneath the surface.

This is book four in the Queens & Heathens series, and while you can read it as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the entire series in order.
