I am always weak for a mafia romance, and this one had all the pieces parts to make me swoo. Mafia princess who has done her familial duty and is now getting a taste of freedom. However, the man she has been secretly longing for - who is from a different mafia family - secretly follows her to make sure she is safe.
This book has stalking, it has primal play, it has family secrets, it has high stakes mafia intrigue.
And it also has some very sexy back and forth between Lucie and Toma.
And when Lucie is all in? She is in and it's FIERCE. I love the way she evolves and grows in this book. I adored her in Hateful Vows, a little ball of sunshine in the mafia darkness, but here? She becomes something uniquely her own and I love her.
Very sexy, very dangerous, and just so much fun to read.
There’s something about Toma switching between easy smiles and dark threats that has me enthralled.
