It is rare that an audiobook keeps me as focused on the plot as The Faraway Inn did. I finished this book in 3 days!!! Mind that I have two little kids occupying my attention, work, and a house and garden that needed tending. Normally I only reach for audiobooks while working outside, but this one kept occupying my mind and I wanted to know more. Sarah Beth wrote something that tickled my brain and kept me asking what is going on with the characters in this book. Not only our main character but also all the side characters were lovable, and their personalities and little mysteries made me listen. I must say this book does something that just works with my ADHD brain. Multiple mysteries felt like sidequests and that is what I love to do in gaming — figuring out every little sidequest and getting all the answers at the end with no missing pieces. My brain was very happy.
Five stars and one of my favorite cozy audiobooks of all time. Bow down for narrator Soneela Nankani. Her voice acting was so fantastic that I completely forgot that one narrator was doing the whole book — and that is one thing I often struggle with in audiobooks, where a single narrator just doesn't get the images in my head flowing. But Soneela made me forget she was the only one talking and my brain created a whole world. Fantastic!
