At least with the Yakuza, Ed knew what kind of horror he was facing. Hazeline puts on an altruistic front, but something is off about her expensive taste. Ed gaslights himself into to not questioning her generosity, handing his fate to what seemed like the more palatable villain. Unbeknownst to him, he is cooking up a primal feast for some of the most powerful people in the world. Ed doesn’t realize how deep in the weeds he has gotten, and that revenge is a dish best served cold.
Greedy is a deliciously disgusting thriller. I came across a pearl clutching review of Greedy and knew I HAD to read it. I devoured it in one sitting. It is not for the faint of heart. Have an emesis basin ready if you don’t have an appetite for horror. Challenging ethics and power dynamics, Greedy gives the wealthy elite the power to decide someone’s fate. Through the guise of charity, the elite prey on their victims’ pain suffering, offering them a life of comfort and luxury. What the recipients of the elites’ charity don’t realize, that everything comes with a price. While Greedy presents this concept in a plot through culinary horror, it prompts the question, where do you see this dynamic playing out in real life?
